Affirmative action is unfair unless it becomes income-oriented instead of race-based. You want to see an underrepresented class of Americans? I bet it would be horrible to grow up white and dirt poor, especially in the Ghettos and boondocks of America. You're left in the lurch, falling through the cracks of society. What's up with that?
Having said that, when considering the way affirmative action is implemented in the U.S., the main systems are in education and employment, so I'll touch on each.
