: About Me

My name is Scott Snyder. I live in Oregon and am a writer who hopes to one day be published. I enjoy writing for a multitude of reasons. Writing gives me the freedom to express myself in a safe environment, and it lets me share my thoughts and ideas with my readers. It is power at your fingertips. When you combine writing with the power of the Internet, it can be a winning combination.

My interests are many, but writing, music, travel, reading, and sports top the list. I also enjoy listening to Internet radio stations from around the world, and I have included a link to the right of this page. All hobbies considered, my best times are those spent with my wife (who is a true blessing in my life) and our Dachshund "Frank" (my constant writing companion). His picture appears where my picture should be. He's more photogenic, and he loves the attention.

Aside from my hobbies, I have a strong interest in worldly matters, among them human rights and poverty issues. I have a specific draw to African matters, and am a sponsor for an orphanage village in Mozambique. I just believe that it is one way that I can give something back. We sometimes forget how lucky we are in this country.

When I think back in time, I often recall the words of the old seventies hit written by Mac Davis, "I Believe In Music". Part of that song states that "Music is a universal language and love is the key. And people who believe in music are the happiest people I've ever seen."
