About me

Dean Allen Choate (aka D.A. Choate) was born in Wausau Wisconsin in 1965 and was raised in the Wausau-Mosinee area in Wisconsin. His creative talent began as an adolescent in high school being involved in the school newspaper, drama and lighting crew, school radio station and many english and writing classes. This creativity translated into radio as a local on air personality, News Videographer for several television stations, and finally a writer and poet. His writing has been a hobby since his high school days at DC Everest in Schofield, Wisconsin.

He graduated in 1984 and went on to college to study Human Resources and Small Business Management. He has owned, operated, and helped start several companies Wisconsin and Iowa. He is a very active advocate in the Disability Rights Movement in several states testifying and public speaking in front of community leaders, legislators, committees, companies, and community groups. Despite his many medical problems; some of which are chronic he continues to stay very involved. He is knowledgable in many areas and writes about them.

His poetry and writings are very open and honest depiction of things going on in his life at that particular moment in time. His poetry has appeared in several books, anthologies from poetry.com, websites, newsletters of local causes, and in several other media. He has been published in the United States and Internationally.
