My name is Catherine Henry. My nickname is Kitzel, given to me by my dear husband. I have a passion for writing which has trickled down from generation to generation on my mom's maternal side. My grandmother wrote songs and my mom wrote her family story and loved writing poetry.

When I was growing up my mom always shared stories with us about her years growing up. My grandfather on my dad's side also loved telling stories. My greatgrandfather on mom's side also shared many stories.

Now it's become a passion for me to share my own. I also love writing poetry. Cooking. Gardening. Reading. Creating cards and bookmarks.

In December twenty of my poems were published. This year one of my stories made it to the editor's. I'm excited about what the new year has in store.

My passion is ...

life, there is no greater gift in life then living it fully and completely enjoying all that life has to offer.

I know too much about ...

nothing, there isn't any one thing that I know too much about, I find I can always learn something new about any subject.

My parents always told me ...

make sure you have a full tank of gas, I never let my gas tank go below half.

My childhood ambition ...

to be a secretary, for sixteen years I lived my dream as a secretary and retired after twelve years of being an office manager.

My favorite memory ...

The strongest and greatest memory is the day I got saved. My wedding, the happiest day of my life and everyday since has been happier still. And of course the day my children were born and grandchildren.

Why I write ...

to be creative, to share the things in life that I enjoy. To paint a picture for others to see.

I love reading scripture, good novels, history/watch '24', American Idol/Vernon McGhee

My first job ...

clerical in the town hall, I enjoyed digging in the archives and reading about the prices of land in 1850, $2,000 but you over 100 acres with home and livestock.

My best moment ...

when I'm cooking, I love cooking and enjoying the different flavors. I grow my own herbs. I like taking three recipes and combining them.

LIVING FOR GOD

This article came up on my screen and I felt compelled to write to it. None of us can truly live for God without the Holy Spirit within us. Before I got saved as a young girl I tried living for God and felt the failure every time. I was raised in a Catholic School and learned certain principles in which to live. I thought I had to keep the Ten Commandments and never break them. When I got to my teens I had gone to a Protestant church with my aunt and went forward excepting Jesus into my life. But I had only gone through the motions.
