Ever since I met my girlfriend in 1989, after she left her husband who was terrorizing the family that she was providing her sanctuary I have become familiar with our Justice System.

In hindsight I should not have gotten involved. I expected that the courts would side with her, as she had experienced abuse, was seeking aid from social services, counseling and help from friends. Instead the husband became a "born again" Christian, got a crusading attorney that believed women were "chattle" - five years later this was over. Retained counsel did not bother to use the material to support their clients position or refute the Christian attorneys lies. The lies that this attorney was claiming were, no separation, deserted the child and so forth. The documents available were social service records, police report of separation and so forth - none of which was used.

Then a neighbors dog bites my girlfriend as she is walking in the community. The neighbor was a medic that promised to treat the injury, he did not, the injury got worse - this attorney, after five years, deserted absconding with their clients settlements (Washington Post June 1, 2000).

It goes on, we are apparently not "clients of choice"....

A Northern Virginia Police Story

Consider this, you are shopping in a store, minding your own business when a cop comes up and demands your id. Perplexed you ask what it is about, why does he need to see your id. The cop responds because I said so, looking around and all that you see is this cop and a quiet store, it had been quiet for at least a half hour. Again the cop demands your id, now you are concerned, the cop does not identify why he needs to see your id.
