I grew up in Vermont, the youngest of three, the only girl, born on my grandfather's birthday. I read a lot. I enjoyed the outdoors. I am very lucky to have grown up in Vermont, where you can smell the weather and seasons coming. The electricity before a storm, the air before the rain, the crisp of winter, the turning of fall, the freshness of spring and the life of summer. You can fall back into tall grass in a field and see so many stars it's incredible.
I went to college, studied Philosophy, Political Science, and life. I learned to love the city, sports, events, concerts, the bustle.
I went to law school, studied "how to think like a lawyer." I learned a lot about North Carolina. You can smell things there too - honeysuckle and gardenia instead of leaves and lilacs. I learned about CheerWine, "usedtocould", true southern hospitality and southern cooking.
Back in the Northeast, I've passed the bar exam, taught paralegal courses and worked for an attorney, who if nothing else, taught me how I do not want to practice law. I have opened my own law firm. I'm still young. I still have goals.
I have a burning desire to feel settled while at the same time am always looking for the next right move to make. I want to continue my education and continue to take every opportunity I can find to participate in the educational process of others.
I ran the spectrum of feelings about my family, but one thing it took hard times to teach me is - there is nothing better than knowing the meaning of "home."
