Born and raised in South Asia, I am young woman with a few American degrees. My multi-cultural identity is often mistakenly described as confused: an American influence on a Mumbai-based Gujarati identity.
I spent 5 years studying diasporic women who struggle to pass on their native culture to their children in a foreign land. I spent them out in the field, in villages, in homes and with myself, contemplating, thinking and watching the world go by.

My love affair with anthropology! I spent 3 years studying a population via the use of anthropological field methods. Here, I want to talk particularly about the struggles I faced in the process, and the advantages of being a native in the culture I studied. I studied the Gujarati community in Gujarat, India - known for its migratory nature.
