Basic computer training falls into several categories: 1) How to use your computer in general (how to turn it on, start a program, etc.) 2) How to use the internet (such as reading email, web surfing, surfing safely, etc.) 3) How to use specific application (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) 4) Programming If you're reading this, you've probably got the hang of step 1, turning on the computer, but if not, the best place to start is either a book - such as the "Dummies" series, which is really for people smart enough to know they need a book - or even better, a community education class....
