About me

"Hatched in the cabbage patch and located outside the box somewhere over the rainbow."

The above was the description I wrote about myself when I first arrived at Helium and was writing under the non de plume of Elizabeth Archer.

You see, I thought that people who wrote here were supposed to use non de plumes in order to remain anonymous for judging purposes.

I've found out since then that what was meant was that all judging took place without any sort of byline-as in when two pieces were compared.

Anyway, I'm just plain old me right now. I'm all over Cyberspace, so no need to write the same old stuff that I write everywhere.

Instead, I'll write about how I came up with my former non de plume.

Archer, of course, comes from my Sagittarius birth sign. I really don't believe in astrology but, instead, think of Sagittarius as being like a mascot such as my being a Pendleton Heights H.S. Arabian.

The Elizabeth part comes from a childhood game I used to play where I called myself Bessie Ginda after a family friend. I was Mrs. Bessie Ginda and was married to Burl Ives. Long, funny story there! LOL

Anyway, it was fun going with a non de plume for awhile, but I also like the freedom that being myself will bring.

Hope you'll continue to enjoy my writings as much as you did when you thought that I was Elizabeth Archer instead of that same old goofy turkey you've been seeing all over the place for years!

I know that happily-ever-after exists, because I've seen it at its best in the home in which I grew up where I had parents who had obviously married each other's best friend. This union lasted nearly six decades and death as opposed to divorce caused the parting.

Even now, they aren't truly apart because that closeness and love still remains even after the crossing over.

I've seen other happy marriages, too-the kind where, as with my own parents, you just see this special glow when they look at each other.

Not long ago, I was talking to a former neighbor and asking about her daugh...
