Hmmm. I tap the pencil on the desk to help me think, and catch a swift kick in the shin from the boy next to me. I kick him back and tap the pencil harder, breaking the lead.
Question... question...
I pick up the pencil sharpener, seeing the wood curl away as the conical lead forms smoothly beneath the blade. I tap that on the desk now to shake away the last of those flecks and grin at my desk buddy. He glares at me and returns to studiously writing in his book.
Hmmm. I twirl my ponytail as I think and pause. Well why not? I know it happens, not quite sure why... ...
