My first job ...

I was a part-time office assistant at the Alabama Gas Company. I was in the 12th grade.

My best moment ...

Wow that's a hard one. My best moments have been watching my children graduate from high school. Watching my daughter get her associates degree and being there for the birth of my two grandchildren.

My inspiration ...

I am inspired by many things. Family, mentally strong women, underdogs and wildflowers.

I visited my new rheumatologist on yesterday. She sat in her chair, tilted her head and looked at me. She appeared to be puzzled. I just sat on the table swinging my feet and wondering why her brow was furrowed. You never know what doctors are going to say. I'd been in this position many times before.

She said, "Well you look a lot better on the outside than your test results show about your inside." I sat there; I was still swinging my feet. I thought that's got to be a good thing right? I didn't say anything. I just listened.
