About me

It is true! You are never to old to start anew...I earned my college degree at the age of 46 and found a renewed passion for writing.

After earning an AA degree at the College of the Albemarle, I went on to attend East Carolina University and studied Social Work.

After graduating in June of 2009, I found myself unemployed. It seems to find a wage worth working for in the field of social work, I needed a Master's degree, so without further ado I will pursue my writing passion as I hope to begin a higher degree in the near future.

I am married to an Electrician and have been since 1993. There is a grown son, two grown step-sons, and a cat that pretends to hate us. Dogs are always on the horizon as I once thought to be a veterinarian.

As animals are one of my passions, I may choose to find myself volunteering or working in the shelters or vet kennels. Though I have been know to volunteer for human venues in need, as well.

I have a strong interest in human rights and will advocate, debate or write to this topic frequently. Inmates and ex-convict rehabilitation are of great concern as I hope to find my niche within this area at some point while pursuing my writing career.

I love to travel, especially the southern states, and have been to Japan once. It is my dream to venture to more countries in the future to explore and learn more about human rights across the globe.

Golfing is a new hobby that I picked up a couple years back so as to enjoy my husband's company in the outdoors. I don't like to fish so this was my only other choice besides our shared yard and garden work.

Helium is a new outlet for my writing as I continue to seek other outlets for my work. Staying on task has gotten easier as the years are counted off, so maybe all the topics and ideas I have will find there place soon.

Greatness may be achieved on many levels during an individual’s life—the titled “man” is assumed to be a generalized term to include “woman”—so it would be a disservice to assume it is a final goal or destiny. Throughout life we must take care not to overlook that which has been given us as great-natural talents and skills. As children, it is assumed we make childish mistakes, but learn from them as we grow and mature. This allows for our minds to expand and hearts to be open to the experiences yet to come. Even so, children can achieve levels of g...
