I'm a 40-something mom who enjoyed a career in book publishing prior to momhood. I'm a published poet, writer, editor, reader and book maniac who obtained my B.A. in English (years ago, but who's counting) simply as an extension of my passions listed above.
Since then I've incorporated writing into every job I've had, and am thankful that my supervisors all along were so accomodating to my love of writing!
Now I freelance so I can be home with my 2-year-old daughter. I am in the sprout stage of building my freelance business and website.
My passion is ...
books, books, books, words, love, carnitas, pretty things.
I know too much about ...
my sister's broken heart.
My parents always told me ...
I was sweet.
My childhood ambition ...
to be the next Hemingway! (Or the editor who discovered him).
My favorite memory ...
picking sweet peas with my Nana.
Why I write ...
because I have to,
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I'm reading "Good Grief" by Lolly Winston. Supposed to be reading "My LIfe in France" by Julia Childs for book club.
My first job ...
selling shoes! (No wonder)
My best moment ...
seeing my daughter for the first time, and the look on my husband's face.
My inspiration ...
My daughter, my nana, my mom, my sister...

The most important aspect of seriously finding a reputable publisher for your children's book is research, research, research. 1.) Diligently investigate publishers' submission guidelines to find a "match" for your manuscript. Not doing the proper research of publishers is perhaps the number one mistak...
