My name is Cindy Whittington and I reside in South Mississippi. I am a 1995 graduate of Stone High School. Following graduation, I attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and graduated with special honors. I pursued a Bachelor's and Master's of Science degree in Psychology from William Carey College. I have a minor in gerontology. I worked several years for Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources as the director of an Adult Day Care program. In 2002, I went to work for South Mississippi Regional Center as a staff psychologist. At both of places of employment, I worked with individuals with mental retardation, mental illness, and/or with individuals who are elderly. I have also worked as an adjunct professor at William Carey College in the psychology department. My first child was born in 2005, just two weeks prior to Hurricane Katrina. We were without electricity for nearly three weeks. When my baby was 7 months old, I was blessed with the opportunity to stay at home with my baby. I worked contractually for SMRC for 10 hours a week from 2006-2008. In April 2008, my second daughter was born. I am married to a wonderful man and we are soon approaching our 10th anniversary.
I have been a Christian for approximately twenty-three years. I was saved as a young girl, and I am certain the best thing I have ever done in my life is accepting Jesus Christ as my personal savior. God is such an awesome and loving heavenly father and I know my life would not be complete without him. I believe the most important prayer an individual may pray is the prayer of repentance.
