About me - Peggy Strickland

About me

I am joyfully pursuing a dream to write; an aspiration born when dear Mrs. Havens taught me to write that first sentence over fifty years ago in a rural Alabama first grade classroom.

Intervening years passing at veritable light speed have provided me with experiences and relationships to enrich and embellish a fledgling portfolio.

Now married close to forty years I delight in my role of mother to a beloved son whose position as light of the world only brightened with his gift of beautiful daughter-in-love and a treasured grandson. I live and write blissfully on Creekland, a peaceful few acres in South Georgia.

Please check out my author page and published books at Amazon.com, and the Facebook page for my newest book, Nature Coast Ways http://facebook.com/naturecoastways!

I also write on Google's Knol Project at knol.google.com where I have been on numerous occasions designated as featured author and top author.

Please visit my personal websites at http://peggystrickland.com and http://belledesigns.us for photographs, poetry and other writings.

While our children and grandchildren learn much that is new and modern and perhaps technologically refined, there is much to be said for what they learn at the feet of older and maybe wiser folk who also happen to love them. And who to better fill that bill than grandparents? Children may respond naturally and without malice with something like, “Aw, that is so old fashioned!”  Or silly, or lame, or what...
