About me

10-30-2011 - Am I crazy?! Maybe. I will be over at NaNoWriMo for the month of November 2011 to try and get a novel of 50,000 words punched out. This should be interesting considering I am also studying to take state boards to renew my CNA license. I will test on November 12th. Will be glad to get it done. I have never written a novel before - started but never got past the first chapter. Of course this is more for fun, but who knows what I may be able to do with it after. I do not yet know what it will be about, but have an idea brewing. ¿>)

I grew up most of my life in Colorado, the oldest of seven children. I excelled in my business classes in high school and went to state in the FBLA. My favorite sport to participate in is volleyball.

My wonderful husband of 18 years and I adopted my 14-year-old grandson 13 years ago. I home schooled him for 6 years with the Colorado Virtual Academy/K12 curriculum while we lived on our 40-acre ranch in a very rural area. We have recently moved back to the Springs and our son/grandson is attending a nearby quality public school and doing very well. I am happy to have more time to dedicate to my writing.

In my earlier years, I spent 12 years as administrative assistant/office manager in several fields. Then I decided I had had enough of office politics. I just wanted to do a good job and earn promotions based on my hard work. I went to school and earned my nursing assistant certification and worked in health care for nearly six years. Five and one half of those years I worked in a hospital setting on the cardio-pulmonary unit.

I started schooling for my registered nurse license and in the midst of that had to have a serious surgery. I changed my major to English and Creative Writing and surpassed my expectations with 4.0 GPA. That is when I came to realize my passion for writing.

I am an entrepreneur at heart. I have owned a cleaning business with my mother, a landscaping business on my own, and a typing/writing services business-AnnasVersatileWriting.com. I have transferred that over to a Wordpress Blog - God's Word for Women.

I volunteered as Chief Editor for our Property Owners Association monthly newsletter for one and a half years. I now write of news in our community at CSFreshInk.com, a branch of our local newspaper.

I love my Lord and attend church regularly so that I may continue to grow in my walk with God. I have helped with the four and five year-old's Wednesday night children's program, help in the nursery, and join in praise with my brothers and sisters in Christ in the church choir.

I am excited about being a member of Helium as a place to learn more and also to share some of my own knowledge of things. It would be a big Plus if I actually earn some money doing so.

Religion & Spirituality > Catholicism Did Jesus appear to the Virgin Mary during the forty days between His Resurrection and Ascension?

Of course Jesus appeared to his mother during the 40 days between his resurrection and ascension. She was his mother after all, and there is no factual documentation that theirs was not a loving, nurturing mother/son relationship. It makes perfect sense, and the Holy Bible confirms that it is so. Accounts leading up to the Resurrection definitely infer Mary's presence with the many women following Jesus. It is also true and of great significance that Mary was among the first that Jesus went to see after he came back to life. According to John's account in John 19:25-27 she was present at t...
