Anna is a freelance writer and artist living just outside of Los Angeles, CA with her boyfriend, Rueben and their three cats. She feels that the greatest gift she was ever given was the love of learning passed down from her father. She is fluent in German and Laitn and loves reading anything she can get her hands on!
Anna is currently a college student working towards a degree in anthropology. She was a reporter on her high school newspaper, The Black and Red, and loves seeing her writing in print! She joined Helium in October 2009 and is also writing a book based on her life growing up in Nashville, TN.

Adoption is a bitter-sweet process for all involved. As an adoptee myself, I know firsthand the emotions that come with an open adoption. In my case, both of my families helped raise me until I was three and my younger sister was adopted. After that my biological family pulled away so that my younger sister wouldn't feel jealous since her adoption was a closed adoption. It was sixteen years before I got back in contact with my biological family.
