I grew up with a distinct love of words, they fascinate me. I love to read as much as I love to write. I grew up in Michigan and with long winters, I found plenty of time to treat myself to story after story,
I never thought to write until I was inspired and encouraged by my husband. He had a childhood dream of writing a story, one he'd carried in his head for years. One day he went beyond dreaming and began to weave a reality out of the thoughts in his head. I was always struck by this and enjoyed reading as he developed the story into his first novel. My love of his work and him knowing me so well, he encouraged me to try the same.
I first began by writing bits for a local radio show. that was fun, short and simple stories meant to amuse the morning commuters. But I wanted more. So I set my goals higher and went for them.
With no idea of where to begin, I started small. I imagined a scene in my head, one of an unhappy man seeing a woman, a complete stranger, from that briefest glimpse he is transformed. The words spun from my head to my fingers and to the screen, it was a wonder to me, the enjoyment I felt in watching the story grow and the characters interact. My first novel was born after nearly a year's labor and I was able to hold it in my shaking hands.
Since then, I have written three children's books, aimed at early readers and have begun work on my second novel. Each story is individual and must be handled carefully, the joy they produce in myself and my readers, is always the same.
Still in Michigan, I divide my time between my family, my work and my words. My interests carry me to interesting finds and information, I'm a word hound, I read anything I can, the information I glean, I store away, more often than not these little treasures come in handy.

I know too much about nothing, rather I know a little about too much.
My parents always told me ...
I could, so I have.
Why I write ...
I write because I love words, I love to use them to bring what I see in my mind into the word for others to see as well. It peaks my curiosity as to if our visions match or if my words have created something new and beautiful for them to ponder.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Reading Greg Iles, watching the clock, listening to the hum of an over worked Dell.
My best moment ...
I have several, holding my children for the first time, holding my husband, holding my first novel. But mostly, in the time I held my own when giving in was the only other option.
My inspiration ...
The world around me, I find inspiration through living.
The idea of reality television as entertainment is nothing new. It was first introduced in 1948 when Allen Funt introduced the world to Candid Camera, a television show based on putting ordinary people into extraordinary, oftentimes funny situations. The show centered around watching the unwitting participants and their reactions to the pranks played on them. In the decades that followed, while the premise of the hundreds of reality shows that have been on the airwaves covers a wide spectrum of situations, the premise still remains the same, watching everyday people in extraordinary situat...
