As far back as I can remember, I've had a great love and respect for the written word. Since I was old enough to be able to, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and writing, eagerly devouring any book I could get my hands on. As for the writing, throughout my life, it has been a source of pleasure, frustration, healing and growth.
Professionally, I have more than 27 years of business experience, the majority of which has been spent in the marketing and communications fields. Most of the writing I have done in this capacity has been related to the healthcare and education finance arenas. My favorite opportunity by far was the management of a health and wellness magazine for a well-known health insurer. In this capacity, I served as project manager, editor and contributing writer. It was probably the most fun I have ever had at work. Currently, I manage a marketing production department at a student loan/education payment company in their ecommerce solutions division. While management has its rewards, I do miss the creativity my previous positions afforded.
On a personal level, I have two children in college and a wonderful relationship with my "spousal equivalent," all of whom provide me with abundant fodder for creative (and occasionally entertaining) writing. I anticipate more to come in this vein. My life's ambition, like so many of us, is to get that novel that lies within me out onto paper. Sometimes, I am actually confident that I can do it!

I only ducked in here To escape the rain Now zombies are trying To eat my brain Masked menaces and goblins Beckon there on the floor Soon they'll cause my pounding heart To beat no more Grim Reaper with his sickle Is threatening my life Get out of my way, mister So I can outrun your wife A tarantula's bristly tentacle Reaches for me Dracula's right next to him I'm too scared to flee Ghosts and ghouls and demons Are blocking the door Someone help me find an exit From the Halloween store!
