About me

Selena's love for learning was sparked by her mother, who taught her to read at age 2. She's been a bookworm ever since, spending hours at the local library. Selena believes that promoting reading in early childhood is very important, both to children's education and to society as a whole.

Selena enjoyed school, but was frustrated by the lack of flexibility in the learning model. She was introduced to homeschooling in seventh grade and immediately took to the freedom of natural learning. Thanks to her homeschooling experience, she was able to graduate from high school at age 15 and started college that same year. After graduating from college as an Accounting major, she went to work in the corporate world, with dreams of working on Wall Street.

After the birth of her first child, however, her priorities completely changed. She was no longer concerned with becoming a financial success. She wanted to be the best wife and mother she could, and, to her, that included taking responsibility for her children's education by homeschooling them. She now spends her days teaching her three children to love learning and she has never been happier.
