About me - Jeannette Rodgers

About me

Buon Giorno...Good day!

I write from the heart to encourage, inspire, teach and share Hope. I also write to share the wisdom I have attained through life experiences, lessons learned, training and my Christian faith. What good is it to hold everything we have learned and everything we love to ourselves. We are to give it away and share it with others; hence; my writing which started many years ago.

I believe that everything we endure through life truly builds and reveals our character. It is a progressive process if we allow it to change us for the betterment of ourselves and to enhance relationships with others.

I have a passion for humanity. My continuing desire is to understand the dynamics of our mind (Psychology) and care for the soul (Counseling). I have increased interests in Philosophy, Geronotology, and Adolescent development among others. I hold a particular interest in Alzheimers Disease (have studied Adult development, aging, Behavioral Neuroscience etc.  to better understand and assist those living with this neuro-degenerative disease while maintainng a heart for families affected by loved ones living with AD. Hence, I am an advocate for seniors living with memory impairments, cognitive and behavioral challenges  (Dementia, Alheizmer's Disease and Age related memory loss).   "Dont forget them just because they cant remember you"!

I am a registered member of the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors), an Ordained/Licensed Non-Denominational Minister and Christian Lay Counselor. I hold a diploma in Biblical Counseling and have certifications in Crisis Intervention and First Responder Skills among other Mental Health completions.

Worth noting is that a title is just something that tells you what a person does; but more importantly is being able to sense who a person is relationally, emotionally, spiritually and mentally through life, words, and actions.

My other passion is cooking, experimenting with new recipes, critiquing food and restaurants, entering recipe contests and competitive cooking challenges. I am always ready to try something new on the menu. I am a foodie passionista and you can join me at my foodie passionista facebook page and find my foodie blog at blogspot.  I am a winning recipe contributor in the 2009 Healthy College Cookbook and also auditioned for The Next Food Network Star in 2008 and have applied for MasterChef Season 2.

Thanks for stopping by my page.

I pray my writing will bless, teach, inspire, and/or encourage you in some way.

We are all on this journey through life together. I stand with you!

Happy Reading, Healthy Eating and Joyful living to you all!

I find that I write most about Life Experiences, Love, Relationships, Family, God (the Trinity), Mental Health, Food, Cooking and Recipes.
