About me - Brooke Shambley

About me

I am a writer. Well, aren't we all? I went to college intending to be English major and instead graduated with a degree in Interior Design, a minor in Music, and a minor in Leadership. I admit, I was extremely daunted by the English department's requirement of two senior theses. However, most importantly I found that as I wrote in the collegiate setting, my professors in English sought to transform my writing into a form more scholarly and more "fitting" rather than leading me to discover better ways to enlighten my readers to the subject matter. I decided that I loved my creative style of writing and I did not wish to conform to their more acceptable writing methods.  I was convinced that subjects such as history were much more interesting when presented as a dynamic story rather than a list of facts.  Which is how this individual who loves Grammar more than most left the field of English to pursue the field of Interior Design with the understanding that I can write no matter what field I pursue. In fact, there is no field of study that excludes writers. So, as I said, I am a writer.
