I have been writing stories and poems since first grade. I added articles and novels to the mix in high school. I love the magic that the joining of words and imagination can conjure.
I have an Associate's Degree in computer programming from Bryan College, a Bachelor's Degree in English from Indiana University - Bloomington, and in December, 2011, I completed a Masters' Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in English from Fort Hays State University, Hays, KS.
I have published one historical romance novel, "The Rogue's Revenge", with Awe-Struck Ebooks, and I have written many articles, mostly about history, for both print newsletters and websites. I am working on other novels.
From 1998 to 2001, I was a personnel clerk at Ft. Dix, NJ. Before that, I spent twenty years as a military wife and stay-at-home mother, following my soldier from duty station to duty station. During the seventies, I worked as an enumerator/office enumerator for R.L. Polk & Co., making city directories. I collected information for the directories, either door to door or by telephone.
Currently, I am an online English Composition instructor for Bryan College in Springfield, Missouri. I have taught Critical Thinking and Technical Writiing as well. I have been teaching in the online environment since 2006.
I also run a primarily web-based jewelry business, the Vault of Valhalla , with my husband, Vince, who is an attorney and metal caster. He creates medieval Norse, Celtic, and Anglo-Saxon jewelry. I run the business and webdesign side of the venture, dealing with customers and keeping the paperwork current.
I am a member of a medieval re-enactment organization, the Society for Creative Anachronism. In addition to my legal name, Lucy E. Zahnle, I have written newsletter articles for the Society under the pen names, Dulcibella de Chateaurien and Lady Dulcibella de Chateaurien.
