I am a retired teacher, mom, and nanny. I have a BS and MAED in Elementary Education from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. I have four children and three step children. I also have three grandchildren who I love and adore and another soon to arrive.
I love to write poetry, articles, and would someday like to write children's books. Writing has become a great source of comfort to me. It lets me vent, learn, challenge, and educate. My writing provided my school with over 61,000 dollars in technology in 2008 as I was one of the 30 first place winners of the Samsung's Hope for Education. This was a world wide essay contest which addressed how technology has impacted education, plus how we can environmentally dispose of technology. I had to answer a 3 part question in 100 words or less. I was truly overwhelmed with joy when I learned I had won a spot among the top 30 participants.
I have been involved in various missions in the last 10 years. I have worked in prison ministries in both maximum and minimum security facilities. I believe we have to be diligent in taking the gospel to everyone.
I have story to tell about my life someday. I have gone through many adversities, yet I am living proof that with God's help and direction you can reach your dreams.

When I first began teaching I immediately became a pack rat. Teaching in public schools gave new meaning to working within a budget! Reality was a direct catalyst in learning to recycle many household items into my classroom supply tubs. The average person might see just an old, cardboard paper towel roll, but I saw the potential for a brightly-painted, ornate rain stick that would play a vital role in our poetry lesson. Most teachers are very ready and willing to give parents lists of items they use year after year but have a difficult time accumulating in vast...
