: About Me

I am a 26 year old wife and mother of 4. I am originally from Wisconsin. I met my husband in North Carolina and started my family here. I went to school to be a high school African American History teacher and when I graduated from Johnson C. Smith University I decided to focus my all of my energy on the local inner city schools in my area. I worked with some of the toughest kids around and loved every bit of the challenge. I saw miracles each day as students who had no hope for a future began to work hard and believe in themselves. However, as I was pursuing my dream job, I noticed my responsibilities at home were being neglected. My husband and my children needed me. So after much prayer and confirmation I decided to take a break from trying to save the world and take care of the people under my own roof. I am now a homemaker. I prefer that term because as the woman in my house I set the tone. God has been showing me that I can either make my home or break my home. If you haven't guessed by now I am a Christian. I'm not the kind of Christian that JUST goes to church on Sunday. I know God is real because He dramatically transformed my life. Each day I do my best to offer up my life as a sacrifice to Him. I am far from perfect and I have problems just like everyone else. When it's all said and done, I blindly trust my Savior to complete the work He started in me.

Most people can still recall that fluttery feeling, lighter than air, that overtook us when Mr. or Mrs. Right first glanced our way. The shortness of breath and sweaty palms were exhilarating. The pounding of our heart seemed to permeate our being and rightly so. Our hearts are the core of our emotion. Perhaps not scientifically but if you ask any child which organ is responsible for love they will enthusiastically respond "the heart!"
