I am a busy wife and mother in Tulsa, Oklahoma. My family owns and operates a local garden center, where I work part time as an administrative assistant for my father.
I have a bachelor's degree in journalism from Texas Christian University. Writing and editing are my passions, and I am a rabid news junkie. I am also what as known in these parts as a "bleeding heart liberal" and environmentalist. I enjoy my work at the garden center, and I adore raising my daughters and being Joe's wife, but I must admit that nothing sets my soul aflight like sitting at a keyboard, or even hiding away in my bed with my journal.
I am constantly striving for balance in my life, as well as on my feet. I am constantly searching for creative outlets and intelligent people with whom I can share thoughts and exchange ideas. I am frustrated by those who insist on seeing the world in black and white, because I see a million and a half shades of gray and they color my world. My greatest hope for my daughters is that they be open-minded, thisty for knowledge, curious and creative.
To begin, a caveat. Nobody in the United States of America should assume that the information that reaches his or her ears should be taken at face value. It's a cynical way to look at things, granted, but from the golden shores of Fox News to the middle of the Daily Kos, the message is biased because the messenger is human.
