: About Me

My name is Curt Guillory. I graduated from Remington College with a degree in Business Management. I have worked in several vocations so far in my life. I have been (among other things) a working chef, banker, salesman, laborer, mortgage broker, & currently a sales manager for a local motorcycle shop. I love my family, life, food, & motorcycles (all kinds). Most importantly, however, may be my mindset. I am always learning. I am a firm believer in the adage that, "if a day goes by without anything being learned, then that is a wasted day."

I have no formal writing accomplishments. I have never been published, but I am hoping that will change soon. I write & have written extensively for family & friends. I write to convey my feelings. I write to teach a lesson. I write my musings. I have written eulogies, wedding vows, business letters, business proposals, letters to Congress on behalf of a group, & other such contributions.

While my writing accomplishments may be limited, that would be none if you're keeping score, my life experience is great. I have done many things, met many people, worked hard, & played harder. I draw inspiration from my wonderful family & all that is around me. Sights, sounds, smells, feelings, & emotions all inspire me to write. They force me to tell a story, to explain, to educate, to inform. They also force me to ask questions, get answers, & learn.

I was born, raised, & reside in South Louisiana. Please notice that the "s" in south is capitalized, because there is some differentiation between north & south Louisiana. South Louisiana bears the influence of the French during their tenure here. This influence is ready recognizable in our food, architecture, language, & way of life. I am quite proud to be a Cajun. The word Cajun is a derivative from the word Acadiana. That word was derived from the Latin word Acadie, which means heaven. While this place is not quite heaven, it is home. And it is a great place to live & raise a family.

I hope to share some things, learn more. I want to contribute. I want to answer some questions, & have some questions answered. All the while, I want to have a little fun.

President Obama has taken to some familiar territory in order to push his suffering health care agenda. The president has returned to the campaign trail. It's no wonder why he has chosen this venue.
