That old verse about the paths "diverging in a wood" gets quoted far more than it should. I have seen bum-kissing valedictorians spout it from the podium at graduation after graduation. They heard it in English class after English class, and it stuck. I have seen CEOs exhort, trying to kid us. They took the path most taken - play politics and work your way up the corporate ladder.
