About me - S.E. Ingraham

About me

Writer, poet, activist, volunteer - when not tilting at windmills, I enjoy reading my poetry aloud at both The Stroll of Poets (weekly at the Upper Crust) and at the Kasbar with the Raving Poets, and recently at a small teahouse, Steeps. Am the Edmonton coordinator for the World March for Peace and Nonviolence, an exciting one-time project which involves helping organize volunteers and fundraising to raise awareness for the March. Proudest writing accomplishemt to date is having two of my poems archived on poetsagainstwar.ca. I 've also been included in a number of anthologies, as well as being published at winningwriters.com and on the British 'zine, melisma. My volunteer work leans heavily toward Social Justice and I am on a committee to that end with the Unitarians Universalists here, plus with Project Ploughshares. I'm also on the board for the Stroll of Poets presently. In my other life, I am married to the love of my life and we have two grown married daughters and are awaiting the birth of our first grandson, Jack, due momentarily. I write because I must.

Academic arguments aside, there is very little prose that stays forever in the mind and is quoted down through the ages. Not so with poetry – even th...
