THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ECUADORIAN "Ecuadorians are ugly," uttered the young Ecuadorian woman to her office colleague. "They've got big, long noses and they're too short," she exclaimed, taking her hand and extending it in front of her nose. "I don't even like calling myself Ecuadorian, and I wouldn't be caught dead dating one either. I only date Puerto Ricans and Dominicans."
