About me - Linda Cann Pearson

About me

I have been writing both professionally and as a freelancer for over thirty years. While fully involved in my professional career, I also dabbled in freelance writing when I had the time. A number of my humor articles have been published in newspapers including the New York Times.

I have a BA in Psychology and have drawn upon that education during my career experience working with college students.  I have an extensive background in writing from my position as Program Manager in the School of Business Career Center at a local state university, where I counseled business students regarding resume writing and development, cover letter writing, job search tools, and interviewing skills. I also provided resume critiquing and editing. I developed, wrote and published the majority of the business center's literature, including informational booklets and brochures on the interviewing process, resumes, and other related job search advice. I created, edited and was sole writer for the business center’s quarterly Business Placement newsletter. I also contributed weekly columns to an additional newsletter published within the School of Business.

As I am now retired from my position at the university, I am directing my writing efforts to my freelancing career. I have an eclectic taste in what I write about and usually write when something strikes my fancy.  I enjoy laughing at myself and life’s sometimes difficult situations and occasionally include some of that in my writings. In addition to my non-fiction projects, I have a special fondness for haiku and senryu poetry.

I have sold content to CUPS for a successful Cat Book Writers book project, sold articles to Stock Content and many HMP and assignment articles. My User Groups include Cat Book Writers, Marketplace Approved Writer, Marketplace Premier Writer and numerous Senior Writer groups . I can also be followed on Twitter and at Catster.com, where I write a blog and cat diary. See "My Links" for easy access.

Being a lifetime addict of flea markets, tag sales and auctions, my home is filled with some lovely and quaint pieces I have picked up over the years and at very reasonable prices. I also sell antiques and collectibles in two antique shops and occasionally on eBay.

Most importantly, I am the extremely fortunate mother of a wonderful daughter and a precious little kitty.
