: About Me

I love writing inspirational pieces whether in a short story, poem, or novelette. The genre I write for most when I'm not writing for Helium is of a spiritual, religious nature. There, I use true stories to show the love of God towards all of us and what our response should be in return.

I've written articles for the Baptist, Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist, Seventh-Day Adventist, and World Wide Church of God congregations. One of my articles was printed in Great Britain and 37 of my articles were printed in the Philippines, (35 of which were incorporated into a series of reading books).

In addition to this I've had a couple articles in professional nursing journals, (Nursing '95', Nursing '97') and one article was printed in Reminisce Magazine.

I have probably written over 100 stories for a Christian periodical called Guide Magazine. Occasionally they've had me do continued stories. They also put out a devotional for kids age 10-14 for the year '2009' titled Elastibrain. In the book I wrote devotionals for 31 pages for the month of March. In addition to this I also had several pages in another book they put out titled Sabbath Afternoon Blast. One of my stories has appeared in a book titled Grace Notes. In addition to this I had one of my stories printed in a book titled Chicken Soup for the Child's Soul. I was interviewed on television in Greenville SC about that story by the Angel Broadcasting Network at Channel 16 in February of 2008.

My passion is ...

Loving God, loving my wife, loving family/friends and I love writing

I know too much about ...

I know way too much about weeds in the garden. I know way more than I should about the weeds of sin in our lives as well.

My parents always told me ...

Eat to live. Don't live to eat. If you have a better way to do something then do it!

My childhood ambition ...

Be a policeman. Be an army recruit. Be a football star. ha ha ha

My favorite memory ...

Being chosen to play a little Dutch Boy in a school play. Got to wear the Dutchman's Britches, shirt, cap. Got to sing Tip Toe Through The Tulips and dance beneath the improvised windmill.

Why I write ...

It's addicting. As a child I didn't like reading nor writing. Now it's like an obsession/compulsion!

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Right now I am reading The Desire of Ages by Ellen White. When I get done with that I will read her book titled The Great Controversy. I love listening to inspirational music about God.

My first job ...

My first real job was a 12-hour day on a sheep ranch. We castrated and docked the tails off the sheep all day long. I was 12 years old. Mom took me to a movie at a drive-in that night. I was so tired I went to sleep during the cartoons.

My best moment ...

My best moment was when I got down on my knees and I prayed to Jesus to come into my life.

My inspiration ...

Jesus is my inspiration. The Holy Spirit inspires me. God the Father's love for me inspires me as well.
