: About Me

Hi.

I'm currently a student living in New Zealand (yes, Lord of the Rings, and no, there are not any vikings here). I have a BA in Classics and am half way through my Honours year, with the intention of continuing to a Masters.

I enjoy writing, naturally I have spent a lot of time emersed in Classical literature and my main focus is the epics of Homer... which naturally I have to read in original Greek.

I have had an interesting life, growing up on a farm and being homeschooled from the age of 7. Apart from my degree and further studies I have managed a retail bike shop, attained 3rd Dan in Kendo (Japanese fencing), read Greek Tragedy in ancient Greek and raced mountain and road bikes in interesting locations all around the country, including a Nationals campaign, all before or while I was 21.

Getting a flat tire whilst out on the bike always seems to happen at the most inopportune times. It is one of those little annoyances in life that it pays to be prepared for. If you are riding out of walking distance from home, it pays to carry the essentials; a reliable pump, a spare tube, tire levers and/or a puncture repair kit.
