I am a Confessional Lutheran who is a member of a congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. But that does not keep me from talking to people who do not share the same views as myself.
I think revelation (specifically the Bible) is a valid epistemology. In other words "For the Bible tells me so." For example I believe the Bible is correct when in whatever issue it addresses be it science or history. At one time people said that peopld mentioned in the Bible such as Pilate or Sargon did not exist. But time has proven the critics wrong and the Bible right.
Christians need not be intimidated by so called intellectuals.

While Irish Roman Catholics like to claim St. Patrick as their own, it is interesting that other Christian church bodies claim St. Patrick as their own. This writer remembers reading a book on the Presbyterian Church which claimed St. Patrick as their own. The entry for the Church of Ireland (Episcopalian) also claims St. Patrick as their own.
