About me

Some friends say that I have been around since dirt. This is a slight exaggeration since I know at least two people older than me and they assure me that dirt was around before me by at least a couple of years.

I am one of the few native born Californians who still lives here. I married my high school sweetheart, just barely out of high school and the amazing thing is that we are still married. Don't ask me the secret to a successful marriage, because we are still working on that one.

I have spent over 40 years dealing with computers in one form or another. I started as a COBOL programmer and graduated to more complex and simpler languages over the years. I have become, what the industry knows as, a programmer analyst. I have built computers, sold computers, told them what to do and I have dismantled them. The latter with more delight than I should admit. My life has been one long love-hate relationship with computers. I can honestly say computers will not take over the world soon because we tell them what to do and how to do it, and we keep lousing it up, and so will they.

My latest accomplishment was working for a commercial retail packaging company where I was the WEB Master and I was instrumental in taking their e-commerce WEB site from a monthly income of less than $8000.00 to over $40,000.00 gross.

I have always been a writer, but mostly white papers and guides on how to do things. I have written two unpublished novels, a number of short stories, and I have had some poetry published. I have successfully created a 32-page comic book and I published it. I can honestly say that publishing is easy; marketing, selling and distribution are hard.

My latest loves are developing, comic books, and computer games, second to my wife and family that is.

The rest is extremely dynamic and subject to change on a whim.

When it comes to any software recommendation the reader of the information must take any recommendation along with a grain of salt. Which graphics package is best for a teenager to use? Here hold the salt will you? It is Paint Shop Pro. Why? To begin with, it is the least expensive of the major graphics software packages available. I know there is free graphic software out there, but you do get what you pay for. Most free graphic software will get a person started but only just.
