Hello,
I'm Jennifer Brown. I'm a free-lance writer and author of paranormal fantasy and short stories. I have a BA in Fine Arts, major in Fashion Design, and am a certified dog trainer. While I do enjoy writing about those topics, my true passion lies in the paranormal and urban fantasy. Topics I enjoy include, but are not limited to, mythology, theology, history, fashsion, pop culture, sub cultures (contemporary), dog behavior/training/health, snowboarding, skateboarding, pro-enivronmental alternatives, and animal rights.
I am a member of Writing.com, where I keep my creative writing portfolio, and Hubpages.com, where I write articles about the paranormal. I am currently working on my first fiction novel, to be 100k words when completed and soon to be published.
It's a pleasure to meet you and I thank you for your time and interest,
J.D. Brown
My passion is ...
Paranormal Fantasy, both reading and writing a good fantasy excript.
I know too much about ...
vampires and the paranormal as well as canine behavior.
My parents always told me ...
I need to learn to save my money "just in case something comes up".
My childhood ambition ...
For as long as I could remember, I wanted to be a vet, until about highschool when I realized how much I hated biology.
My favorite memory ...
Christmas of '95, I think. I was ten years old and my sister and I got our first "American Girls" dolls from Santa.
Why I write ...
"If you want to read a story which hasen't been written yet, write it yourself!" I love to tell stories and share me ideas and opinions in a creative matter. My skills are more geared to creative writing. I have so many stories and plot lined floating around my head that haven been written yet.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Currently? Nothing. I need to make a trip to Boarders later today.
My first job ...
I worked at the conssesion stand at the local movie theater when I was 15 years old. It was a lot of fun. The theater was brand new at the time and a popular hangout on the weekends. A few of my friends from school worked there and we always made it fun. It never felt like work. Plus we got all the free popcorn and movies we wanted!
My best moment ...
The first poem I've ever written was for a contest on another site, and it won second place! I wasn't expecting to win anything and just did it for kicks, but bou was I proud of myself.
My inspiration ...
Anne Rice, for her craft in literature, and Stephanie Meyer, for her over-night sucesses. I can only dream to one day be as well known as those two fine ladies.
