Hello, my name is Susan Elizabeth Wiggins. I have always enjoyed expressing myself through the written word. It has proved to be a valuable outlet for me throughout my life.
I live in the southeastern section of the US, where things are constantly changing, while magically remaining the same. I am surrounded by nature's beauty and acquainted with some of the most colorful characters anyone could hope to meet. I am a lady, a mother, and an ex wife ...twice. I am a grandmother, yet inside, I am a little girl, the perfect playmate for my grandchildren.
I love singing Internet karaoke. Also, I judge singing contests for a very popular karaoke web site. Dental Assisting was my occupation for about 12 years. I had to retire early after breaking three vertebrae and tearing my spinal cord in an automobile accident.
While I am still very much an amateur writer, I have been busy living life and collecting the lessons and the potential stories which have accumulated around me.
Helium.com seems to be a wonderful place to find the help needed to smooth my rough edges as I become a more polished writer.
My passion is ...
Family & Life
I know too much about ...
Earning a Masters Degree from the School Of Hard Knocks.
My parents always told me ...
"Remember who you are"
My childhood ambition ...
I wanted to be a movie star or a mommy. I have 3 daughters, and you've never heard of me...Guess which path I followed.
My favorite memory ...
It is difficult to decide, but the top contenders would include- my childhood Christmas mornings, the birth of my babies, a special first kiss or my motorcycle tour accross the US and British Columbia.
Why I write ...
It is one of the best ways to express myself.
My first job ...
I remember at the age of six sanding the edges of desktops in my father's desktop replacement business. Looking back, I think it must have been a "busy" job to keep me out of trouble, but hey, I was earning $5.00/week!.
My best moment ...
I need to think about this one....for now, see favorite memory.
My inspiration ...
Sometimes sadness, sometimes happiness, but it usually involves someone I care about.
Mama died on a Monday. It was in January, the seventh, to be exact. A new year, a new week; a new role in life for me, as I was now a motherless child. If I was, in fact, to be totally honest, it has been more than thirty years since my childhood. Young or old, I still miss my Mother. Actually, Momma left us a few years before her death. She didn't purposefully desert her family, it was more like she was abducted.... yes... that's definitely what I'd compare it to, a kidnapping. Momma's abductor, went by the name Alzheimer's Disease, a cold hearted thief which, bit by bit, steals everythin...
