: About Me

I am a 29 year old mother of three beautiful young girls ages 5, 7 and 9. I have done and experienced many things in my short time here on Earth. Not in the traditional sense as one who has traveled the world, but in a manner much different. I grew up in a home filled with abuse and negativity. I am a domestic violence and rape survivor. And above and beyond all, I am me, I am a phenomenal woman. These life experiences have made me who I am today.

I started writing poetry at a very young age and nearly seven years later at the age of 16 I published the very first poem I had ever written. I wanted to be a journalist and a photographer for most of my younger years. I wanted to travel the world and see everything it had to offer. I wanted to help the less fortunate. I wanted to be a voice for those who had no sound. I wanted for people to feel the power of a picture. The list goes on and on.

However, my life turned out much different. As I mentioned before, I have 3 children. Traveling was out of the picture and unfortunately, due to lack of finances and free time, furthering my education was hardly an option. I spent many years waitressing. In my younger years this was to pay for college. In my adult years this was not enough to provide for my children. I have been a store manager for a fairly large retail chain. Yet again, not enough money. I have spent the last four years of my working history in the construction industry as a Union Carpenter doing commercial concrete form work. FINALLY, enough money. But now, I am home with my children. Helping them find their way in life and trying to find mine yet again. I have been approached by a ghost writer to publish some of my life story and eerily amazing experiences. I hope to further my writing talents on here as soon as I figure this site out. Who knows? Maybe the right person will see something and I can find a new career and a new path in life.
