Hey guys! My name is Mandy Sosa and I am going to be writing on helium in my spare time. I used to write for The Michigan Daily at University of Michigan but then I graduated, ha. So when I got an invite from my friend who wanted to bring me on board I was really excited to get back into it. I have to say that I may not be your average technology writer writer. Why?
1) I actually play games right now; Taikodom and Celetania right now. Didn't know they existed? Well consider your self informed
2) I have never been one to follow proper journalistic rules so to speak. Which basically means that I have no problems telling you exactly what I think about a technology, culture, or games, I love to party with the gamers, and I don't mind asking the 'way too personal questions that others might steer away from.
3) If you want to know something, chances are I'll find out for you. When the new product room is packed I do what I have to and get in as many questions as possible. Let's be honest, if you were a booth dude, who would you rather take questions from, a 50 year old man, or me?
So I hope that you guys are ready for the my upcoming articles! I'll be keeping you informed on technology and its applications to society for now, not to mention games so I can let you know what I'm doing! Over the next decade we're going to be blindsided by some amazing technologies and we'll see how it develops!
It's going to be one hell of a decade!
My passion is ...
Technology
When people say "no" to this question, they may be limiting their views to the current technology and the applications they are familiar with. Sure, maps are cool. They are permanent data you only lose access to if you lose the maps themselves, but thats it. How often do you use a GPS to locate yourself on a physical map? Do you really carry around a watch, and a sextant and find your latitude and longitude manually? If you have this archaic skill, I commend you. It's a great hobby but for navigation it is just not practical. Now, for true accuracy second by second you pull out a GPS. True...
