My name is Shannon Lynn Farlouis and I love to write poetry and prose. I also write recipes, and health articles. I am 40 years old and I am a life long resident of Louisiana. I am a proud graduate of the 1988 class of Independence High School. During my high school years I was a member of the English club and the Independence High School Band in which I played the Clarinet. After high school I furthered my education by attending Hammond Area Vocational School and was a certified state and national Emergency Medical Technician. I have also attended and completed Computerized Basic Accounting at the Area Health Educational Center. I attended Southeastern Louisiana University for one year in Psychology. I am one of the proud writers of Triond, Bukisa, Associated Content, and Helium. I currently reside in Hammond, Louisiana with my two children, Taylor and Kaitlynn. I would like to thank all my educators throughout my life who has made my writing career possible.

The Harwood's Francolin is a gray-brown bird that has a red bill and a red tail. It has bare skin around it's eyes that is also red. The female is paler in color than the male. This bird is native to Ethiopia. The population of this bird is threatened because of habitat loss. It is also hunted for food and to sell at local markets.
