About me - Michael Hunter

About me

I am currently a student at Ivy Tech, and previously attended Indiana Welseyan University as a business administration major. My chief interest is the amusement industry, and I do consider myself a roller coaster enthusiast. Something that I'm sure many will find interesting and exciting is that I spent two summers (07 and 08) working at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio as a ride op. Those two summers have provided me with a wealth of operational knowledge that can be applied to almost any situation at any park, and really shows through in my writing.

Starting on February 1, 2010 I will be participating in the Disney College Program as an Attractions host at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. I am very excited to not only work for The Mouse, but to also experience Disney for the first time as a guest and employee.

I also have an interest in web and graphic design, IT, gaming, and computers. These two areas of interest collide in my current "job" as the site manager for RollerCoasterPro.com, a website focused on the amusement industry and the coaster enthusiast community. In addition to being the site manager, I am also the writer of RCPro: Blogged, and some of my writing here will likely appear both places. Music is another major part of my life, and I have been performing and playing since 5th grade.

Sony Alphas are a new line of DSLRs and Sony has quite an uphill battle to gain some ground against the likes of Canon and Nikon, but after shooting with the entry-level A200 for about a year and a half I feel confident in saying that it will not be long before Alphas are widely used and praised. The body is very comparable to about every other DSLR out there in both size and weight. The thing that is different with the A200 is that even if it really is just as crowded as the Canons or Nikons on the back, it does not feel or look like it is. There is the LCD, a directional pad with center ...
