My name is Muhammad Fahd Waseem, and I'm a sudent. Yes, a simple, easy going, rather nerdy engineering student. I live in Pakistan, which is actually a beautiful place. In fact, it's the only country apart from India to have really have four seasons, and a terrain that varies from giddying peaks to parched deserts to fertile river plains to woody forests to sandy coasts. My part of Pakistan is GIKI: a university nestled far away from any city, at the foot of the world's second largest dam, Tarbela.
I enjoy writing, which is rather obvious, given that I am on Helium. What is not so obvious is that maths, physics, computing and their unification is one of my fantasies. Having said that, and thus establishing my credentials as a Stephen Wolfram type geek, let me proceeed to shatter that image: I enjoy life as much as the next person, even if I do it in more subtle way than the rest of human kind does.
I love sports. I am, somewhat, a specialist in racquet sports. Badminton, squash, tennis and table tennis are all in my domain of play. This is a notice to those who still think I am a geek.
My writing is a way for me to express my views and my symphony with life. There is nothing of such beauty as the written word. All the religious scriptures were written down. All the best novels are written down. All the greatest ideas in the cosmos travel best when written down. At Helium, I have not written many articles of this kind, focusing instead on my aforementioned love of physics and computing; yet, I am as much a poet and philosopher as I am a hard headed scientist.
I am also a Muslim. A Muslim by choice. There is no religion that teaches as much peace and harmony as the religion whose name even translates as 'Peace'. Islam lets you think for yourself, and be logical. There is logic in One God: even the Jewish Einstein agreed. And truth be told, Jewism and Islam are but a few metres apart in a kilometres wide chasm.
I have a wonderful sister. She'll never hear me say it, but she means a lot to me. Living in one part of the country, away from my family is a liberating experince, but one tends to miss blood relatives. At the end, your family is the place you return to.
I am at Helium to challenge myself. I wanted to see the tier of the pyramid at which I stand. And thus, here I am.

The languages spoken in Pakistan have deep, ancient roots. Some of the languages have developed indigenously in the various regions of Pakistan, yet others have been brought to Pakistan by invaders and rulers. Pakistan's national language, Urdu, has developed from an amalgam of all such language: it is unique in that it is a language spoken natively by perhaps less than 3% of the populace, but otherwise spoken and understood by over 90%. It would be wise to ignore the various dialects and minority languages of Pakistan for the purpose of this article, because it would otherwise mean writin...
