My hope is that every person with cancer can smile because someone touched his or her life. So many of you made Nicki smile! I never imagined that I would devote my life to this cause, but when cancer touched my life it changed everything. I watched my daughter battle her terrible illness with bravery and optimism, and I saw how her photography enabled her to see beauty in the world even in the worst of circumstance.
Many of our loved ones leave messages to us before they pass on; I believe that the dying help us live with purpose and honor. We at the Nicki Leach Foundation what to honor her request that we help people with cancer. Nicki never stopped smiling. We can all "smile because it happened" if we make it happen.
