: About Me

I m a 68 year old grandmother of five; mother of three. I was a Medical Transcriptionist for 48 years so typing, spelling, editing, etc are not new to me. I have written many poems over the years, some of which are published on a poetry website. I am associated with the Red Hat Society as a member of one chapter and as Queen Mother of my own chapter. I enjoy reading and writing. I like to write for my own enjoyment as well as to share my feelings and thoughts with others. I started writing poetry at a very young age but mostly kept it to myself except for the ones I shared with my mother who always encouraged me.

WIDOW'S WAILS He sailed away one windy March day Just a short voyage, ‘twould take but a day “I’ll return on the morrow,” he told his wife As was her habit, she prayed for his life. The lonely night was nothing new But by the second night, her panic grew He promised his return on this very day Whatever could be the delay? Days and nights passed as she waited His safe return she anticipated No word or sign of his ship could be found All waterways searched, every channel and sound Years passed and the husband never returned A candle in the window eternally burned...
