I have always enjoyed both reading and writing. As far as writing is concerned, I try to be as factual as possible. Even while stating my opinions I believe it is important to try to be objective (admittedly there are some topics I am overly passionate about). Considering there are so many extremist views, and those are the ones that generally receive the most attention, independent thoughts and opinions are needed to fill that vacuum.

It is truly baffling that with everything going on around our country and the world right now, our government considers the most important issue to be smoking. Let's just take a look at some of the more pressing issues; our economy is as bad as it has been in decades, as is the housing market. The government has poured billions upon billions of dollars of our money into bailing out the banking industry. Unemployment rates continue to rise.
