About me - Andrea Gaboriault

About me

I once heard, "A writer writes... always!" I wish I could say that I have lived up to that, but as they say nowadays, "life happens!" I graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in English and Secondary Education (junior high and high school, if you're wondering). It wasn't until my last semester when I did my student teaching that I realized that teaching wasn't for me. So, I've spent the last fifteen years (I can't believe it's been that long!) jumping from job to job and raising a family.

I was laid off in December when my company was shut down by their parent company. I haven't gotten a "real job" yet - you know, one where you get to wear nice clothes and work at a big desk at an office and so forth. So, after some self-reflection and soul searching, I thought I'd give this work from home thing a try. What have I got to lose?

I am so very blessed to have three beautiful daughters and a husband who loves me no matter what. I love to learn, especially about animals and nature. My most recent passion is walking and training my new dog - adopted! I love movies, cartoons, and campfires. I love to sing soprano in my church choir - it's quite exhilarating. I love to read to my girls under a warm blanket in the evening when they're sleepy. And I love to read fantasy novels to the point where nothing else gets done in my life until I'm finished the book!

Pets & Animals > Cat Care & Health Indoor or outdoor: How to choose the best life for your cat

I have been a cat owner for my entire life. The only time I have not had a cat was when I was in college, and believe me, if they were allowed in the dorms, I would have had one! As a child, many of my favorite memories were of my cats. They are intelligent, beautiful animals. They are extremely easy to take care of. They are fun to watch and fun to play with. Their moods can swing like lightning one moment, they're craving for your attention, and the next, they want nothing to do with you. But when they do want your affection, there is nothing like the relaxing feeling of cuddling up with...
