About me

Born in Baghdad-Iraq on 09/07/1946. Father (Sheikh), Land owner, Industrialist, allied to the deposed Monarchy of Iraq. Family gradually became political exiles and moved to Europe. I arrived in England in 1964 aged 18.

Started my own business in 1968 aged 22 and been mostly engaged in my own businesses for most of my working life, apart from two stints as a company director and general manager of a non-profit making organisation, set-up to raise funds, collect donations and generally aid the Kurdish refugees of northern Iraq and other opposition groups to the Saddam Hussein regime.

I have mostly been engaged in my own leisure and catering related businesses also in export trading, property and business development consultancy, worked in partnership with British Rail Property Board, and closely with Inward Investment (North-West) in attracting overseas investors to the region. I have written innumerable Geo-political and Socio-economic reports, business plans and evaluations for presentations to Bankers, International Relief Organisations (NGOs), and the UN Sanctions Committee, and on some occasions I have also ghost-written and transcribed speeches (into English) for foreign representatives.

My previous writing often yielded the desired results from interested parties and healthy yawns from all others, but I hope that my move into fiction will help me accomplish a life-long yearning to take my readers by the scruffs of their pyjamas and hurl them onto a rollercoaster-ride of the senses.

Special Interests: Books, Music, Films, Ancient and modern History, Mythology and Folklore of Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq), Psychology and Parapsychology.
