I am a retired Elementary School Teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. I also hold two Teaching Credentials. I have received the Hilda-Maeleg Award from the National Educators Association.
I am an avid tennis player and a member of the United States Tennis Association. I founded a community tennis organization that included free or low cost youth lessons. I have contributed hundreds of hours to promoting tennis in my community.

Picture two children performing a difficult addition problem. One has memorized the addition facts; the other uses fingers or a chart to calculate the answers. The first individual is finished quickly. The second goes from fingers to the problem. The brain can handle a finite number of activities at once. Using a finger or a chart to find answers tie the brain up with activities that could be memorized.
