Public relations, magazine, radio and television broadcast writing and editing has been the forefront of my career. My passion is writing about animal behavior and travel. My writing experience and skills are diverse.
As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and a minor in Journalism, I was college newspaper editor and won a journalism award for magazine writing.
My writing journey has taken me from hospital public relations, to television and radio broadcasting and commercial production. Managing, writing and editing a local magazine titled Metropolitan LIfestyle led to writing online for websites, businesses, and currently for Helium and Associated Content. I am Helium Channel Manager for Dog Care and Health and the Birds Channel.
I have also worked in the Silicon Valley as a Senior Producer for online and now defunct Liveworld Productions, Inc. creators of Talk City, 1996. I've worked during my career for Fox, ABC and NBC as a reporter, special events and news director, promotions manager, and in advertising sales.
My passion, however, is dogs and other animals, especially behavior modification and I have a keen interest in communication between humans and animals. This is reflected in my writing focus and professional work today.
I am a Certified Tellington Practitioner (P1) and a Clicker Professional training parrots, dogs and other companion animals. My focus is on positive reward-based training methods.
I am co-moderator of a popular discussion listgroup "Clicker Solutions". Melissa Alexander author of "Click For Joy" and Clicker Solutions founder formed one of the most popular clicker lists with the largest membership online today.
I live on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound just north of Seattle, Washington in a little town called Langley. Langley is fondly named "Village By the Sea" and paradise to me, my husband, two Belgian Tervurens and two parrots. I write about local travel and events.
