: About Me

I am extremely excited to be here on this site, where I see that I am surrounded by great talent - I am humbled!

To me... I am a 30 something year old mother of one incredible 8 year old and wife to the love of my life. I work in the public school system as a teaching assistant with the dream of one day, affording to earn my teaching license.

Born in Scotland, I moved to the States at the tender age of 19 in the hope of finding adventure and excitement. At this point in my life, I believe that my life was planned out ahead of time as this was where I was to meet my soul mate - strange how our paths are carved!

I have always loved writing, and started throwing together some of my poetry - published here - after a rather unfortunate event at age 18 which I shall not bore you with - I believe it is explanatory within my prose! Writing was highly therapeutic for me back then, and now is just a source of relaxation and pleasure. A means for me to express my often caustic sense of humor...

I am a member of several review sites online as this gives me the opportunity to not only share my words, but to learn from the feeback of fellow members - I believe that we never cease to learn and I am always open to critique. I am thrilled, as I stated previously, at the quality of writing here at Helium, and I hope to learn a great deal more from members who will be kind enough to read and rate my work... I want to improve as much as I want to share my thoughts...

I hope to build many great relationships with people who share the same passion for written word as I, and can't wait to start hearing your opinions.....
